Overview
Manvers lake is located at Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham and has some of the best facilities in the country for open water swimming. Set in the Manvers regeneration zone it boasts:
- Clean clear water all year round (rated excellent)
- Showers and changing facilities
- Slipway access to water
- Clearly marked swim course
The lake is about 45 acres in area and the swim circuits are 400m or 800 metres (equivalent to 16 or 32 lengths of a normal pool), although shorter distance swims are also possible.
Staff and volunteers are friendly and welcoming and there is a takeaway cafe on site that sells a range of drinks and snacks.
